Regional Business Meetings
The GCMA East Anglia region holds Business Meetings twice a year, in Spring and Autumn. These events provide a valuable and timely opportunity for members to:
- Gain insights from industry experts on key topics affecting golf club management.
- Participate in interactive discussions, workshops, and Q&A sessions on current issues and best practices.
- Network with fellow managers and industry professionals, strengthening connections across our region.
Each meeting features guest speakers, case studies, and practical workshops tailored to the evolving and demanding needs of golf clubs. Whether you’re seeking guidance on club operations, finance, membership engagement, or sustainability, our Business Meetings provide essential knowledge and support.
The day typically begins with the meeting, followed by a light lunch. Members are then invited to enjoy a sociable game of golf, with prizes presented over a closing meal – combining professional development with enjoyable networking.

Alongside our twice-yearly Business Meetings, East Anglia takes great pride in hosting a variety of additional networking and Educational opportunities, including:
- Education days on leadership, sustainability, governance, and other key topics within Specialist workshops.

Thorndon Park~ AGM & Spring Meeting 2026
A succesful event in so many ways. Buisness & AGM proceeded as hoped with Gary Smith, Regional Manager delivering a review of the year and presenting his report for attending members. Incoming Captain and host Iain Evans introduced himself for the next year. Iain announced Ben Tawell as his Vice Captain. We look forward to his leadership and sage knowledge. The educational side of the day was occupied with some indepth information for us to savour and consider:

The day was also an opportunity remember Ian Bennet. A keen and colourful supporter of GCMA and matches. A snappy dresser with an eye for purple items! Sharon his wife attended and presented a special “Best Dressed Golfer” award. This was won by John Reeder with a stylish turn out.
