About the region
The East Anglia Region of the GCMA represents golf clubs and Golf facilities across a broad and diverse geographical area. While the historic region had slightly different boundaries, the modern “East of England” area includes Essex, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, North East London, East Hertfordshire, and Norfolk. The region commonly referred to as East Anglia includes the fine links land in the north in Norfolk to the flat Thames estuary lands of the south. The rich agricultural areas also house some of the finest inland and park courses.
We are a dynamic, forward-thinking community of golf club managers, industry professionals, and emerging leaders, all dedicated to shaping the future of golf club management.
Our Aim
Our main aim as an association is to develop the education of our members in an atmosphere of support and assistance. This is achieved through business meetings, educational seminars, peer support across the network, and regular communication via our website and various social media channels including WhatsApp, Facebook & Instagram.
Our Business Meetings are followed by optional golf, an evening meal, and the presentation of prizes – a perfect balance of learning, networking, and enjoyment.
What We Do
Our region provides a collaborative platform for professional development, networking, and the sharing of best practices. We support and inform our members through:
- Education & Development – Access expert-led workshops, regional business meetings (held in Spring and Autumn), and national GCMA initiatives. Our AGM is usually followed by the Spring Meeting, and we also run educational seminars throughout the year.
- Networking & Support – Connect with a strong peer network that encourages collaboration, mentorship, and career growth. Highlights include our annual Guest Day, where members can invite their Club Captain or board executive.
- Innovation & Growth – Stay informed on the latest trends, technology, and strategies to drive club success.

Matches & Events
From April to September, we play friendly but competitive inter-regional matches, including a fixture against Suffolk Captains. The format is usually fourball better ball matchplay – an ideal way to build friendships and useful networks.
